Ingleton CE Primary School Recognised as a Top 10 Primary School in County Durham

Ingleton Church of England Primary School has been recognised as one of the Top 10 primary schools in County Durham in the newly published Department for Education and Ofsted data.

This recognition places Ingleton among the highest-performing primary schools across the county and emphasises the school’s strong outcomes for pupils and a deeply rooted commitment to nurturing the whole child.

The Top 10 ranking reflects the academic performance in the 2024–2025 school year, based on the percentage of pupils meeting the expected standard in reading, writing and maths, with additional indicators such as higher standard achievement and average scores in reading and maths also considered. Ingleton had a high score, with 89% of students meeting or exceeding the expected standard in reading, writing and maths.

As a valued member of the DND Learning Trust family, Ingleton CE Primary is a school where high expectations sit alongside care, compassion and a strong sense of belonging. Set at the heart of its village community, the school is known for ensuring every child is known, valued and supported to flourish academically, socially and spiritually.

We extend our warm congratulations to the leadership team, staff, pupils and parents at Ingleton CE Primary School. This achievement reflects not only strong performance, but a school culture across the school.
