Northern Saints Church of England Academy Celebrates Positive Ofsted Inspection

Northern Saints Church of England Academy is celebrating a highly positive Ofsted inspection, which highlights the school’s inclusive ethos, strong leadership and commitment to pupil wellbeing.

Inspectors praised the school as a welcoming and inclusive environment, where “everyone is different, but everyone is equal.” This belief underpins the school’s ethos and is evident in both the culture and daily experiences of pupils.

Inclusion was recognised as central to the school’s success, with inspectors noting that it is “the heartbeat of the school.” Leaders were commended for their high aspirations for every pupil, ensuring that all children are supported to achieve their full potential.

The report also highlights the rich experiences available to pupils, with a “wealth of ambitious activities” that enhance learning and broaden horizons. These opportunities help bring the curriculum to life and contribute to pupils’ enthusiasm for learning.

Pupils themselves reflect the school’s values, demonstrating respect, tolerance and an understanding that while everyone is unique, all are equal. This is reinforced by leaders and embedded throughout school life.

Wellbeing is another key strength identified by Ofsted. Inspectors noted that pupils’ mental health is prioritised, contributing to a positive and supportive learning environment. As a result, pupils demonstrate positive attitudes to learning and engage well in lessons.

Behaviour across the school was also praised, with pupils consistently showing positive conduct both in the classroom and during social times.

Early years provision was highlighted as a strong foundation for future learning. Children in Reception were found to make a “steady and secure start” to school life and are well prepared for the transition into Year 1.

The inspection also recognised the strong partnership between the school and families, with parents and carers described as “overwhelmingly positive” about their experiences with the school.
