Ward Jackson CE School Ofsted Inspection

A recent inspection by Ofsted has recognised Ward Jackson Church of England Primary School as a nurturing and highly inclusive environment where pupils flourish both personally and academically.

Inspectors described the school as “a small school with love and care at the centre of it,” highlighting the strength of its ethos and the dedication of staff in ensuring every pupil feels supported. The report praised the school’s culture, noting that it is “an inclusive community where pupils feel safe, valued and confident to be themselves.”

Inclusion was judged to be a strong standard, with inspectors commending leaders for establishing “a highly inclusive culture in which pupils are known, valued and supported to thrive.” This approach is reflected in pupils’ progress, as the report found that they “grow in confidence and independence, engage positively with learning and achieve well from their starting points.”

Personal development and wellbeing were also recognised as key strengths. Inspectors highlighted “a coherent, ambitious and highly inclusive personal development programme that is integral to the school's work and strongly supports pupils' wider development,” adding that pupils feel valued and develop “confidence, resilience and independence.”

The inspection team noted positive attitudes to learning and behaviour across the school. They reported that “there are very high expectations for behaviour. Pupils meet these,” and that pupils are “attentive, engaged and show enthusiasm in their learning.” Strong relationships between staff and pupils were identified as central to this success.
